Intra oral cold sore: Lesions in the mouth that appear seemly spontaneously are often the result of food or chewing scratching the inside mucosa. The mouth teems with many things. Bacteria, yeasts, spores, viruses, molds. Viruses are usually the suspects. They are opportunistic and attack where there is a tear in the mucosa. Called an apthous ulcer in soft moveable tissue, they resolve 7-10 days. Seek a dds if don't.

Very common: Depending on the study, between 30% an 80% of population have the herpes virus. There is no way to know how you got it. There are prescription drugs that an be applied, but lysine does very well in most patients in suppressing herpes and perhaps other viruses. This is available at most health food stores and is very safe, but perhaps not as rapidly effective as the prescription drugs.
