Acne: The common treatment is topical prescription medication like epiduo or ziana or Atralin and oral antibiotics like solodyn (minocycline) or monodyx. The strongest medication for acne is Accutane taken for 5 months but you have to have blood work once a month because of side effects.

Acne treatment: First-line therapy includes washing your face with a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide wash. You can apply salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to your face twice a day as well. If that doesn't work, see your doctor for consideration of topical or oral antibiotics, or topical retinoid treatment (goes deeper into the dermis). A last-line resort is the oral retinoid for cystic acne.
