Most likely: In the first cycle or two of starting bcp it is common to experience break through bleeding, which is bleeding not at the normal time. Usually this goes away in several months. The other cause is missing a pill or being late. In some women that will cause break through bleeding also, so try to take your bcp same time every day. If the bleeding doesn't resolve you may need a different pill.
