You can try it : Irregular spotting is typical of Progesterone only birth control pills. Most do not have regular periods on these pills. This is one of the side effects. Many people prefer to take a combined oral contraceptive containing Estrogen and Progesterone to avoid the spotting and to provide cycle regulation. You can try stopping the pill for 5-7 days to trigger a cycle. Avoid intercourse during that time
