Not appropriate : Asthma coughs do not respond to cough surup. You need asthma medicine like albuterol . It is really important to keep asthma under control to protect lungs later on.

Asthma: You do not treat asthma with codeine, it suppresses your center of respiration in your brain, the drive that is making you aware you're not breathing well. You need to see your doctor right away to adjust your asthma medications and please stop smoking!

Treat asthma: The best way to control a cough from asthma is to treat the asthma and not using cough suppression. You need to see your doctor to get the right medication since I do not see the presence of any asthma control drugs in your profile . Stopping smoking would also be in your best interest.
