Toe walking: Walking on toes or the ball of foot, also known as toe walking, is fairly common in children who are just beginning to walk. Most children outgrow toe walking. Kids who continue toe walking beyond the toddler years often do so out of habit. As long as your child is growing and developing normally, toe walking on its own is unlikely to be a cause of concern. If concerned can consult ped.Orthopod.

See podiatrist: It sounds like there may be a problem, but difficult to tell without examining the baby. I would recommend you see either a podiatrist who has lots of experience with infants or a pediatric orthopedist. There very well could be a growth or congenital abnormality that needs treatment.
