A member asked:

Is there a life long cure for afib?

No: There is no cure yet for afib. Even with electrical or chemical cardioversion which may convert afib back to sinus, there is always a chance of the rhythm converting back to an irregular rhythm like afib. It is control of the rate and prevention of thrombo-emboli that is the goal of treatment.
