A member asked:

When are growth restrictions/larger than normal fetuses diagnosed? ever in the first trimester?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fetal growth: Growth is measured by the four main ultrasound parameters: head circumference, biparietal diameter, abdominal circumference, and femur length. These measurements cannot be done until at least the second trimester. Lagging growth or overgrowth is not typically measured until even later in the pregnancy.
