Fungal infection of : See a dermatologist. Get the fungal infection cultured to determine the type of fungus. The doctor can start you on a topical antifungal shampoo until the culture returns and then decide if you need to be treated with systemic antifungal medicine.

Tinea Capitis: Treatment of this infection would depend on how severe the infection is and how much inflammation is present with the infection. Simple therapy is a selenium sulfide containing shampoo (like head and shoulders) or nizoril shampoo. If this is not working you should see a dermatologist for systemic therapy and possible antiinflammatory medicaitons, .
