Stage 4 : Life expectancy depends mainly on the type of tumor, plus many other factors. Age, physical health, medications, other underlying medical conditions, performance status are just to name a few. There is no fixed number, just an estimate. Depending on the patient and all the factors summed up above, that number can vary from a few weeks to as long as 5 years.
