Half life = 21 hours: The elimination half life of Accutane is about 21 hours and pharmacokinetics state that it takes about 3 and 1/3 half lives (3.3 x 21 =) about 70 hours or about 3 days to eliminate about 90% of the drug from your system. Having said that, even though the drug may be out of your system, the effects may persist for 6 months to a year and therefore surgery is generally discouraged during this period.
