No evidence : No evidence for these things unless one is orally taking iodine to prevent thyroid disease.

Don't count on it: Their may be anecdotal reports, but no large double blind placebo controlled studies have been carried out to stand been this assertion. If you are depressed, i would see your family doctor, a psychiatrist or a therapist and they will work together to get you feeling better.
