Pain control: I personally don't like codein. Hydrocodone offers better relief and probably less side effects. Soft food, warm fluids are recommended. Healing is continuous. Return to normal would be expected within 3-4 weeks.

A fortnight: I never expected a chance to use that word. Thank you. You and your husband need to have patience. Here, pain meds are usually stopped at 10 days, but it will possibly still have tenderness and sensitivity up to 15 days. Check back with your surgeon if there is little progress after the tenth day.
