Check thyroid level: Having small cysts in the thyroid are usually of no significance. A solid or mostly solid nodule over 1 cm in size may need biopsy. It is important to make sure your thyroid function is normal by getting a TSH and free T4 level. If these are normal, your weight gain is due to other reasons.
