Needs an evaluation: You should be on a bowel rehab plan that includes daily scheduled emptying, diet modification, stool softening agents or more. Some primary care and most gastroenterology physicians can help you create a successful plan that will normalize the process. Hirschsprung disease surgery and subsequent management is often a complex but manageable problem.

May have skipped are: Hirschsprung disease is due to congenital absence of nerves ( ganglia ) in muscle wall of bowel that causes evacuation problems of stool, is diagnosed much earlier than your age . You may have skipped area , a segment of diseased bowel , speak to your doctor , may biopsy to confirm diagnose your problem.

Need evaluation: This may be due to loss of ganglion cells in the pullthrough, that there is still hd and the pullthrough was not at the correct level, or you have hypertonicity to the sphincter (trial of Botox in the sphincter may help). Also, it was done late in life and the remaining colon may have lost motility because it had been 'obstructed' for a long time. Definitely need to be reevaluated and rebiopsied.

Possibly: Surgery for hirschsprungs allows normal bowel evacuation in 1-3 days. Longer than that should prompt being evaluated by your doctor.
