Internet prank: This supposed dread sexually transmitted disease was simply made up. The fact that people believe in it and become afraid of it is a testament to the confusion and fear that internet fabrications can generate. It's much less funny when sites encourage people to self-diagnose other mythical problems and then pay for pricey, worthless book / remedies. I'm glad you saw through it.
