Why did my doctor prescribe me with flowmax for a kidney stone.

Kidney stone: Flomax (tamsulosin) relaxes certain smooth muscles. The tube that drains the urine from your kidney, called the ureter, contains smooth muscle. If the muscles are relaxed, theoretically a stone may pass easier.

Flomax (tamsulosin): Kidney stones may reduce the flow if urine. Flomax (tamsulosin) relaxes the smooth muscles of the urinary tract thus increasing the flow of urine and the passage of stones.
