can liver damage cause pain?

NOT ALWAYS BUT: Not always but depends on the cause, if it is due to cancer, it will cause pain, cirhosis liver can cause pain as well in the abdomen.But earlier stages of liver damage due to alcohol or drugs or infections may not cause any pain.
