Quite the contrary: Schizophrenia is a serious and persisting mental health disorder. It's onset is usually in the late teens for men and early 20's for women. Though there are childhood cases. Depression can also be a serious and persisting condition, but is more likely to be associated with intermittent (sometimes recurrent) periods of major depression.
