Often not much...: Routine removal of iud should not cause much pain...Some discomfort and bleeding/spotting is expected, but severe pain/bleeding is rather rare. If yours was displaced and there is no string to pull on and additional work is needed to remove, then will more likely cause more pain etc...Otherwise, some discomfort is the normal and can be effectively treated with Motrin etc....
