What might bring about my sore throat/lower sinus pain?

How long has it been: If your symptoms are only a few days old then i would suspect a viral infection. If it has been weeks or months then i would suspect allergies. If you have fever and green or yellow mucus and it has been going on for more than 3 or 4 days then i would suspect a bacterial infection that would require an antibiotic.
