Swelling Feet/Ankles: Severe swelling in the feet and ankles is a major concern. It could be from poor venous return and simply need support hose, much more foot elevation daily, a reduction in salt intake, and more ankle exercises. It could also be from kidney and cardiac causes and should be worked up carefully. Dr rich blake.

Many possibilities: Swelling in the legs and ankles can be caused by multiple things such as diet, blood pressure, kidney function, circulation, nerves, injury, previous surgery...Basically many things. You need to see your primary doctor and jot down more info about when do you notice the swelling, does it every go down, when does it hurt, what is your diet, etc. Get checked.
