What's the expert opinion, could there ever be a cure for cancer?

Stage of cancer: Yes- early stage cancers are cured- mostly by surgery and radiation. Some early stage cancers are treated with surgery and then given preventive chemo and can be cured. There are some advanced cancers such as testicular cancer and lymphoma which are cured with chemotherapy .

Yes and no: Cancer is not "other", it is the inevitable result of accumulated mutations in our own genes and will eventually arise and kill any multicellular organism that does not die of something else first. However, we now cure 4 out of 6 cancers mostly due to early detection. Fear cancer, but fear it rationally and with knowledge as an advocate for your own health.
