It depends: If you had a deep burn then the scar will likely be with you until you die. If just a superficial burn, the redness will fade over the course of a few weeks.

Depends: On the depth and location. Burns that are superificial enough to not leave a scar will typically cause lightening or darkening of the burned skin. It is important to avoid sun exposure until all the pink is gone from the burn. Deeper burns will leave scars, which may take 6-18 months or more to mature. They will never completely disappear.
