A member asked:

Can someone with braces chew sugar-free gum?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gum is tough on brac: Gum of any kind is tough on braces. It also sticks to the braces and is hard to remove. Our main concern is breakage of braces while chewing gum. Broken braces extend treatment times, require more visits to repair and can compromise your final result. Lay off the gum during treatment, chew all you want when you are done.
