Adds NE: Effexor or venlafaxine works on serotonin (5ht) at lower doses but when the dose is above 225 mg it also works on norepinephrine (ne). This dual action helps some people more than agents that effect serotonin alone.

Lift your mood: It could lift your mood. On the other hand, there's the rare possibility that it could make you more agitated. I would recommend that you consider tapering back on caffeine as this can certainly worsen anxiety. It also worsens insomnia. I have seen many people have a benefit in terms of their anxiety being lowered when Effexor (venlafaxine) has been raised from one dose to the next.

Reduce depression: Some people with high tolerance to medications in general may need higher doses of a med. Such as Effexor (venlafaxine) to effectively manage their depression. In people such as those, raising the dose of Effexor (venlafaxine) from 150 mg. To 225 mg. Could mean the difference between still being somewhat depressed to having depression totally lifted.
