Throat infections: First off, most throat infections are viral requiring no antibiotics. If confirmed strep a infections, then - yes, they do require antibiotics. If that's the case, the next recommended step is to remove the tonsils. If the infections are unconfirmed as bacterial, you will need to rule out any conditions that can weaken your immune system such as diabetes, hiv, etc.
