Many possibilities: Differential diagnoses would include: plantar fasciitis, stress fracture, inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid, reiters syndrome, hla-b27, gout), paget's disease, radiculopathy, etc. Examination, xrays, and lab work-up may be indicated.
