UTIs: The kidneys are part of the urinary tract. So, no. Perhaps you are confusing bladder infections for utis.

Certainly : An infected kidney, such as from a backed up stone, perinephric abscess, and infected cyst can cause a kindney infection without symptoms of uti. The actual urinalysis may also be completely normal.
