Depends: There are different methods that can be used to time the intercourse better. Ovulation kits are very efficient. They can be purchase over the counter. Once the OPK turns positive have intercourse that day and the following one. If you are not using ovulation kits and your periods are regular then have having intercourse every other day starting day 10 for 10 days is an alternative.

Ovulation timing: The optimal time for conception is 48 hours prior to and up to the day of ovulation. Therefore, start having intercourse a couple of days prior to when you actually ovulate and have intercourse every other day for a total of five times to help ensure sperm are there when you ovulate.
