I had chest pain then face stared swelling up and started to have hard time breathing. told it was a allergic reaction. could it be from a bug bite.

Allergic reaction: A stinging insect or fire ant can cause anaphylactic reactions and usually are accompanied by a rash of some sort. Did you get bitten? If not, other causes needed to be investigated. See an allergist.
