Is it true that metoprolol is less likely to cause problems in asthmatics than propranolol?

Beta blockers: Bystolic (nebivolol) is more selective and should be ok with asthma, the other two, depending on the dose given, can affect asthma adversely.

Yes: Metoprolol is more cardio-selective (works more selectively on the heart ) when Propranolol is not selective. One study showed that patients on cardio-selecive beta block had a mild reduction in lung function (fev-1) of around 7% but responded to bronchodilator better.
