Immediate attention: This sounds like a medical emergency. It sounds like an infection may be setting in, and if he is already having some loss of function, it is an emergency. Time is precious here, so i would call him and tell him to get to the er or an urgent care center now!

Talk to MD: Tell him to go to an urgent care center or an emergency room to be evaluated. This could be an infected bite, or a reaction from the bite. Good luck.
