Maybe (not) . . .: I can't see your wound so i can't diagnose but it sounds like maceration. Check out http://www.Nursingtimes.Net/avoidance-and-management-of-peri-wound-maceration-of-the-skin/200016.Article. We get worried when tissue turns red, hot & painful, sometimes w/pus dripping out or building up underneath. Regardless, if you're concerned, then you need to get evaluated in person. And update your tetanus.

Good or bad?: If its clear it may be healing over with a thin layer of tissue that will mature in time as either a scar or skin depending on other factors. If its white and draining a lot it needs a more absorptive dressing possibly from a wound doctor. If its white when the dressing comes off and the whiteness decreases with time before its redressed its macerated needs different dressing.

Too much moisture: Excessive moisture will cause maceration of the skin. Try to minimize the moisture to the area by using the appropriate wound care products and dressings.
