D & C: If you are certain of your dates and you should definitely be 10 weeks, there should be a heartbeat. Also, if you are showing no signs of miscarriage (bleeding, cramping, etc.) the doctor will recommend a d&c. A loss such as this usually has no bearing on future pregnancies, and often a cause for the miscarriage is not found.
