No: They are not related to each other. You can have perfectly clear vision, and still have floaters. Floaters are just shadows created by opacities floating within the eye. It is possible that you could have so many floaters that they literally block your vision, but that is not common.

They are usually nearly translucent. In diabetics and persons with other systemic disease, the possibility of developing floaters is increased. Most of the time blurred vision is due to refractive error or the need for glasses.
