Please explain why people want ab- blood vs o-?

Subscience: There's no real reason to prefer one blood type over another and this is good because there's nothing you can do. Ab+ can receive red cells from any donor and can't be sensitized against baby; o- can receive plasma from any donor. Despite bunko claims intended to sell books, there are no real health consequences to one type over another.
