Number of things: This can be a number of things, including tendon damage, osteoarthitis, neuropathies (such as cervical radiculopathies or carpal tunnel syndrome), or just mild micro-trauma that was not enough to illicit an inflammatory response. If it continues, i would recommend having it assessed and possible x-rays to make sure there are no issues.
