SImple means: With injury to our tissues, inflammation (red, hot, swelling, tenderness) occurs. There is leakage of blood from damaged capillaries and veins which collects under the skin and causes the purple blue coloring we call a bruise. Over time, damaged tissues heal and blood collections are reabsorbed. Protect the area to promote fastest healing. Motrin/advil will help.

Yowch!: I know how painful this one can be. Dr. Miller's suggestions are great. You can also sit on a donut cushion (looks funny on the chair but may be kinder on your tush than a harder surface. Also the homeopathic remedy hypericum 30 c may help. Very inexpensive, and available at most health food stores.
