Examine: History palpating x-rays may show , or special films specific, or ct scan.

Exam: Rib fractures are often a "clinical diagnosis". This means by history/cause of pain, and physical simple exam, a fracture is presumed. Generally do not do "rib films" to diagnose a rib fracture. A simple fracture will often not be seen on routine chest x-ray.
