Sexual transmission: Herpes in its' active vesicular form("bubble wrap rashes") are very painful an can be transmitted to a sexual partner. The virus returns to the dorsal root ganglion(train station for the nerve track) when it is dormant and can return to the same site during periods of strees. Zovirax and Valtrex (valacyclovir) are helpful at treatmetn and prevention.

Use protection: Genital herpes is a vrius that is easily transmitted during sexual intercourse when the virus is actively present. During this time, refraining from sex or using a condom ism strongly recommended. No other changes really need to be taken when there is no active outbreak.
