Have pediatrician: She needs to understand prevention of repetitive strep throats, the possible development of a need for future heart surgery, the possible development of heart valve infection and the possible need for prophylactic antibiotics when having dental work, etc. The best thing would be to have a pediatrician or family practitioner explain these things to your girlfriend.
