Are there treatment guidelines for fetal alcohol syndrome?

Early dx helps: There are no treatments for the congenital defects or brain damage due to fetal alcohol syndrome (fas), but early diagnosis and special education to address the child's specific needs can improve their developmental outcome. The earlier a child with FAS is placed in the appropriate educational class and given comprehensive social services, the more improved their prognosis.
