A member asked:

Would you be born with a set amount of serotonin?

No: This is a neurotransmitter, a messenger chemical that is made continuously by nerve cells and breaks down quickly. Proper level requires the building, release, transfer, uptake and breakdown all be in balance.

No: That's like asking, "Will my new car have a set amount of gasoline?" You put gasoline in your car continually. NOTHING in your body is "set" except the master program (genes). Everything else is dynamic: Constant consumption & excretion, constant creation & destruction, constant modulation of processes, constant energy transfer & use, & on & on. Your body is never static.
