I have pain in my groin with walking that has become chronic. could i need a hip replacement?

Quite possibly: Groin pain with weight bearing activities does sound like true hip pain and should be evaluated. X-rays should be able to determine the need for hip replacement.

Hip pain: Pain in the groin is one of the symptoms of hip arthritis. However , it would be best that you see a doctor for an exam and x-ray. An exam and x-ray will usually show arthritic problems. It will also show how severe the arthritis is.
