Yes: High cholesterol can be genetic, secondary to thyroid disease or other illnesses, and can be aggravated by certain medications. Equally important is diet. Regardless of the cause, it can cause premature heart disease. You should exercise, eat a heart healthy diet, and stop smoking. It could save your life.
