A member asked:

I have read that consuming alcohol at night greatly reduces the amount of growth hormone released in sleep, would drinking at lunch still effect this?

Probably: Alcohol is a known growth suppressant. The fact it reduces growth hormone at night the most is explained by the fact that people grow mostly when they're sleeping. Nonetheless, alcohol exercises toxic effects upon the entire hormonal system and therefore is strongly advised to avoid or if used, it is not to go over the recommended "safety" margins of 50 grams/day.

Alcohol can: Alter sleep patterns and sometime growth hormone secretion, but you are past puberty and growth hormone has limited effects in your body. Still, there is no benefit to ingesting alcohol, so make your own decision.
