Not recommended: Cold and cough medication are not recommended for a 3 year old. They are not recommended under the age of 6. Honey can be used to help with cough in children over 12 months of age. A humidifier may also help. Keeping the head of the bed elevated slightly so she is not flat on her back may also be of benefit.
