A member asked:

I have lattice degeneration does that cause dry eyes as well as thinning of the retina?

No: Lattice degeneration is thinning of the retina (the equivalent of wallpaper inside your eye). Dry eyes is outside your eyes on the surface. The only possible relationship is that lattice is seen in near-sightedness and if you wear contact lenses for that, contacts can lead to dry eyes.

Lattice Degeneration: Lattice degeneration is a condition where the retina becomes thinned and is often associated with nearsightedness. Patients who have this should have regular retinal evaluations since lattice are associated with retinal tears which can lead to a retinal detachment. Lattice degeneration is not associated with dry eyes.
