Unsure: There are many factors that play a role in the development of a lung cancer. The sooner you quit, the sooner your risk improves and the better your health will be. Please contact your health provider for assistance with quitting. You can do it!

Smoking cancer risk: Smoking is a risk for lung cancer, mouth or throat cancer, heart disease, stroke & many other health problems. Doctors count "pack-years" (packs per day x years smoked) to estimate risk. The latest recommendation is that anyone who has smoked 30+ pack-years (1 pack/day x30 yrs, 2 packs x 15 yrs, etc) have a low-dose ct scan to look for lung cancer. Quitting now will always decrease your risk!
